Badaling Old Great Wall
The ruined Badaling Old Great Wall is 10 km southwest of the restored Badaling Great Wall, it’s also called Shixiaguan Great Wall or Badaling Remnant Great Wall usually, this section is rarely refurbished and looks quite broken. The Badaling Old Great Wall is a witness to the construction of Great Wall, and it’s the only wild Great Wall which is officially opened to the public around Beijing. Most of the hikers at there are foreign travelers. 

Itinerary

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel in the morning (7:00 am in summer and autumn; 8:00 am in spring and winter), it takes about 1.5 hours by driving to Badaling Old Great Wall.

We start the hike from Badaling Old Section, after about 3 hours hiking, we will get to Shixiaguan Pass. It was the important military fortress during Ming Dynasty and a western gate of the Badaling Defense Works. Come down from the Great Wall at Shixiaguan Pass.
 

(You could choose the activity of repairing the Wild Great Wall on this section, the repair activity is extra charged!)
 

Hiking level is about 3 (Max 5).

The hiking time is about 3 hours and the hiking distance is about 8 km (5 mils).

Then the guide and driver take you to have lunch. After lunch, transfer back to your hotel.

1. Please take Hiking boots, sticks or trekking sticks, backpack, sun-glasses, sunscreen, snacks, camera for this hiking tour.

2. The traveler whose body is not fit for the hiking such as arthritis, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and the traveler who are drunk are not recommended to take this tour.

3. Don’t take baby less than 3 years old for this tour, and the traveler who are more than 80 years old are not recommended to take this tour.

4. Do not wear short pants.

5. Please go to toilet at the entrance of the wall before the hiking, there is no toilet on the Wall. Please carry toilet paper by yourself always.
6. This tour is not available under the following weather condition: Rain, Snow, Strong Wind, etc.
